How would Jesus like to be remembered?

Michael Morwood believes that Jesus would want to be remembered as a friend, even by people who never knew him during his lifetime. Ideally all Christians should be able to declare confidently, "I am a friend of Jesus. Jesus is my friend."

Unfortunately this is far from being the case. Some Christians would think it too presumptuous despite the words from John's Gospel, "I call you my friends". Many Christians know a great deal about Jesus as Lord and Savior of the world, but very few know him as close friend and compassionate companion in the ups and downs of life.

In Memory of Jesus blends imaginative conversation and the author's own personal journey of coming to know Jesus as friend to produce a realistic human picture of the person at the heart of Christian faith. Morwood maintains that Christianity must return to focusing on the human Jesus and his message if it is to have relevance in the modern world.
